In December 2025, the specialized power cable factory for Ningbo Rail Transit was officially put into production in Ningbo, Zhejiang. Invested and constructed by Ningbo Orient Cable with a total investment of 320 million yuan and covering an area of 70 mu, it is the first professional production base for power cables focusing on the rail transit field in China. The core products of the factory are high-voltage power cables for rail transit vehicles and emergency power supply cables for platforms. Adopting special rubber insulation materials that are wear-resistant and anti-aging, they passed 1 million bending tests without damage, and can adapt to the harsh power supply environment of high-frequency start-stop and high-density passenger flow in rail transit. The products have passed the certification of the National Rail Transit Equipment Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, and will fully support the under-construction projects such as Ningbo Rail Transit Line 6 and Line 7, and also supply rail transit projects in Yangtze River Delta cities such as Hangzhou and Suzhou. The annual production capacity is 400,000 kilometers, and the annual output value is expected to exceed 800 million yuan.
