In November 2025, China Orient Cable signed a cooperation agreement with Poland's power equipment giant PGE Group to jointly invest 200 million euros in building a joint power cable R&D center in Warsaw, Poland. This is the first high-end R&D institution established by a Chinese power cable enterprise in Europe. The R&D center will focus on the R&D of cutting-edge products such as high-temperature resistant power cables for smart grids and high-voltage cables for new energy vehicles, set up an R&D team composed of Chinese and Polish technical experts, and focus on overcoming technical difficulties such as cable performance stability in low-temperature environments and miniaturization of intelligent monitoring modules. The R&D center is expected to be put into use in 2026, which will help the in-depth integration of Chinese power cable technology with European standards and accelerate the entry of high-end products into the European market. At present, the first joint R&D project - the R&D of low-temperature resistant power cables suitable for Nordic wind power scenarios - has been launched.
