In November 2025, the ±800kV UHV DC power cable developed by China Pinggao Group successfully won the bid for the third phase of Brazil's Belo Monte UHV power transmission project, with a contract value of 980 million US dollars. This is the first large-scale export of China's UHV power cable technology to the South American market. The product adopts independently developed high-strength cross-linked polyethylene insulation materials, with conductive loss 15% lower than that of international similar products, and can work stably in the extreme environment of high temperature, high humidity and strong thunderstorms in Brazil's tropical rainforest. To ensure project delivery, Pinggao Group will rely on its overseas warehouse in Brazil for local assembly, shortening the delivery cycle to within 6 months. This bid winning marks that China's UHV power cable technology has been recognized by the international high-end market, and will further promote the global promotion of China's power equipment technical standards.
