Underwriters Laboratories announced the launch of the world's first blockchain-based "Digital Twin Certification" service for cable products. For each batch of UL-certified cables produced, key parameters, production data, and inspection reports are used to generate a unique NFT credential stored on-chain. Purchasers and regulators can scan a QR code on the cable jacket to verify product authenticity and access full lifecycle data in real-time. The pilot program will initially focus on automotive wiring harnesses and high-voltage data center cables, aiming to fundamentally address long-standing industry issues of certification counterfeiting.
