National special quality rectification for wires and cables was fully launched in Q2 2026. Market supervision departments focused on sampling household power cords, extension cords and internal connecting wires for electrical appliances. A total of 38 manufacturers across China were punished for cutting corners, insufficient copper core cross-sectional area and unqualified insulating layers. Regulatory authorities stated that unqualified non-standard power cords will be completely banned from engineering and retail markets, forcing small backward factories to transform or withdraw from the industry.
